But when the police vehicle finally stopped, I felt my body go cold when I saw my car parked on one of the shoulders. The police asked me and Skyla to stay in the car, but nothing in the world would hold me there. As the police approached, examining the perimeter, I ran, observing the locked car and my three children there, abandoned, alone.
“It’s locked!” I exclaimed, trying to open it, seeing Hawoo’s frightened eyes. “Son, where’s your dad? Where did he go?”
“Dad!” he called out, starting to cry loudly. His body, like his siblings’, was secured by the car seat’s safety belt. But calmly, trying to calm him down and get him to stop crying, I instructed him to unlock the belt and go to the front of the car, finally unlocking the doors.
“Dad!” he hurried to get out, hugging me tightly. I lifted him off the ground, watching Skyla open the back door and take NamHa out first, handing him to me when she returned and took Ariel, hugging her tightl
