I sit on the couch, watching him focus on my hand.

“What is this?” he asks.

I open my palm, and I see him stare at the objects for a few seconds.

“Hey, I saw this in the apartment when Ji-a told me she was…” he says but stops talking when his eyes open, and he looks at mine. “pregnant. Why do you have this here? And why are they used?”
