Chapter 61
POV: Jaewon
I paid for the meals and drinks, thanking the old lady who was doing her best to make those delicious chickens. I had a dilemma between ordering an Uber or calling a taxi, but as I thought and walked towards the subway—because that was also one of my options, though less valid after drinking a bit of alcohol—I was forced to slow down my steps after hearing the voice that had sounded familiar to me for years.
I faced Ji-a in a tight black dress, wearing a coat over her shoulders. She approached, was wearing makeup, and smiled. I had no reaction other than just looking at her approaching where I was.
“What are you doing here?” she asked, maintaining the smile.
I took a deep breath; it was strange, I felt a mix of emotions, but none of them really mattered. Lifting the bag with fried chicken, I answered her.
“Just was hungry.”
“You almost never eat street food like this,” she said, getting a bit closer. “You’ve also been drinking.”
