Lorenzo's POV

My phone vibrated, and my heart raced; it skipped a beat, hoping it would be Leila's call but sadly, it was a message from an unknown number.

At first, I was hesitant to check the message but my friend, kelvin, nudged my elbow, tilting his head towards the phone, "check the message,man."

I sighed, not yielding to his opinion,then he stood and stalked towards the glass centre table and picked up the phone. He raised it towards my face,"it's a message," and flung my phone on my body, "check it."

A disappointed sigh escaped my lips when the text mismatched my expectations. I had been hoping Leila would call or text me but, it wasn't happening,and my heart sank.

Under the intensive gaze of kelvin,I reluctantly went through my messages because I hadn't done that since I got to kelvin's house. My eyes would only scan through them from the notification bar and it wasn't a text from Leila,I would immediately hiss and drag my eyes away from it.
