Chapter 45. The Sister
Drake’s POV
Her face dropped and when I thought she was going to tell me to fuck off, she did the opposite.
“I know and that’s why I’m here now. I need help.”
And then the waterbucks were back, but this time I knew they were genuine. I pulled her into a hug and kissed the top of her head. I maybe fucking furious with her, but she was my baby sitter. I’ll do anything to protect her. I just hope she listens to me this time.
“Do you have your meds.”
I felt her tense in my embrace at my question and knew that she didn’t.
She suffers from bipolar disorder and without her meds, she tends to go bat shit crazy. And now I know why she had disappeared.
“Why didn’t you tell me you were out of them?”
She stepped away from me and looked down at the floor. “I didn’t want to keep asking you for money. I had my own job and thought I could buy them myself.”
