Aria’s POV

By the time we were done talking about everything, Knox’s face was unreadable. His expression switched between thoughtfulness, worry and fury. His jaw was clenched, and the muscles in his cheek kept twitching every few seconds. Even though he was facing me, he wasn’t looking at me, he was staring over my shoulder, as if he was replaying everything in his mind over and over.

The silence between us lasted for a very long time. The air in the car felt thick and tense. I shifted slightly in my seat, waiting for him to say something, anything at all.
