Chapter 6

Gabriella

It is a Thursday, and although I am supposed to start working at eight, I am there at seven-thirty.

You can not really blame me this time for acting frantic, but I need Jack to give me extra points in case I lose my job. I had a terrible time falling asleep last night and only managed to do so after taking an excessive amount of sleeping pills, but right now I do not feel all that great.

I slouchily said, "Good morning, Jack," but Jack could tell something was off from the expression on his face.

He inquired, "Gabriella, are you all right?"

"Of course, I am fine. I just didn't sleep too well last night, that's all," I lie, he simply shrugs and I walk away from him. Could he not have persisted? I definitely do not look good.

"Hey, Gab, how are you?" I feel a tap on the back of my neck and turn to see Fabian standing right behind me, a wide smile on his face.
