Chapter 111
“I think my water just broke,” I said as I held my stomach and panicked. “I can see that,” Iskander said as he scrambled to his feet, his expression a mixture of worry and confusion.
"We need to get you to a doctor, right now," he said, his voice shaking. He helped me to my feet and supported me as he pressed a button above our seat. He got me settled in the long seat that served as a bed. The pain in my abdomen was getting worse, and I felt a sense of panic begin to overwhelm me. I tried to focus on my breathing, but it was difficult to stay calm. I had never been through anything like this before and I could barely recall anything the teacher had told us in the Pregnancy classes.
"You're giving birth on an airplane?" Iskander said with a chuckle, his voice light and joking.
"What a story this is going to make for your child's first birthday." I couldn't help but laugh at Iskander's attempt to lighten the mood. Even amid all this stress, he was still able
