Grace's POV

Searching for the girl he once knew was written all over Joseph’s face as he scanned mine. Shock and guilt mixed with regret were palpable in everything about him. My body jerked forward as if punched straight in the stomach, my breath hitching inside me like an unlooked-for pregnancy warning on a twenty-dollar bill! It defies logic that it could be him standing there after so long! It's been nine years!

We stood by watching police officers and Felicity disappear into the background while we were locked inside each other’s looks that communicated volumes without saying anything at all. Joseph breathed deeply before looking back at me again

“I never knew” he murmured almost inaudibly “I never thought you were Bianca’s sister”. All was silence around us though I was speechless and motionless too, shocked to remain upright with my head entangled in thoughts of past times which involved heartbreak and suffering that he had inflicted upon me. Felicity at last broke
