Chapter 248
Even after Joseph had told me it was just a blackout, I still felt as if someone was watching me. I kept glancing back, anticipating Isklander’s wicked face.
When the power went back on, I sighed with relief. Nevertheless, my eyes darted to the windows searching for danger.
Uncle Baron’s shortcut in my shoulder did not even come through because my mind had fixed itself on threats. Paranoia was eating me up but I couldn’t help it. Isklander got into my skin; and hence the sensation of being vulnerable.
I took a deep breath and tried to calm my shaking thoughts. There was no way fear would consume me. I had to be strong.
I scanned around the room once again, this time noticing familiar sights. The safe-house was pleasant yet it remained a dungeon. I wished for an opportunity to go out so that sunbeams could fall on my face without any apprehension of being observed from outside.
“Felicity, why don’t you try to get some rest?” Uncle Baron bro
