Chapter 281
Felicity's POV
But I shake my head, feeling a wave of nausea wash over me. “I’m not hungry,” I say, pushing the bowl away.
Joseph looks concerned, but then Joseph walks into the room, his big brown eyes fixed on me. “Felicity, please eat something,” he begs, his voice trembling. “You need to get strong again.”
I look at Joseph, feeling a pang of guilt. I don’t want to worry him, so I reluctantly pick up a spoon and take a small sip of the soup. It’s warm and comforting, and I feel a tiny spark of appetite ignite within me.
Joseph smiles, encouraging me to take another bite. And another. Slowly but surely, I start to eat, the food providing a much-needed distraction from my grief.
Joseph watches, a warm smile on his face, as I slowly start to come back to life.
“That’s it, Felicity,” he says softly.
“You’re going to get through this. We’re all here for you.”
