Chapter 289
Bianca's Pov
Sitting here in this very gloominess, I feel my mind clouding with thoughts of that night. My sister Grace lying on the floor, blood trickling from her head, something I'd only meant to hurt, showing my anger, definitely not to die.
She did, and now I'm the miserable one.
The sound of footsteps outside my cell abruptly pulls me from my reverie. I tense, heart in my throat at the idea of the warden approaching. The key turns in the lock, and the door creaks open.
"Follow me, Bianca," says the warden, her countenance placid.
I sit up on my cot. My mind is racing, yes. What's happening? Where am I going? I follow the warden, my heart pounding in my chest. She leads me down the winding corridors of the jail, but she does not say any words.
