Chapter 23

Ellen had lived in poverty for a long time, but this was the first time she truly felt sorry for the fate she had suffered. Ellen did not regret living her life because of her poverty. The woman, on the other hand, regretted meeting a man like Chase when she was so poor, the man who downgraded her status. If she had half of Chase's fortune, she might be able to fight him. Unfortunately, it had all been a dream she had no match to Chase wealth and power. Ellen couldn't get out of her regrets, and now she had to face whatever Chase gave her and ordered her to do.

Ellen realized she had been too careless to sleep in a stranger's house when she awoke this morning. Ellen was obviously kidnapped and denied access to the outside world. How could Ellen be so calm? It could even be that her family's situation is in danger. Chase didn't need Ellen's permission to move the way he wanted, so Ellen would never know what had happened.
