Chapter 28
Expanding the protective shield he had erected, Ziad used it to push the rubble aside to create a passage.
Tearing off a piece of what was left of his shirt, he bandaged the huge gash on his arm, before turning to the person lying on the ground. The person in question seemed a little groggy, and his head lolled from side to side as he stared blankly into space.
Sighing, Ziad bent down before taking the man's arm and wrapping it around his shoulders. With one impulse, he placed him on his back, using his hands to hold his legs and prevent him from falling to the ground.
While struggling to get out of that place with a person on his back, Ziad was relieved that he managed to save him. Otherwise, if he hadn't noticed, it would have been left behind.
At first, he couldn't tell if it was just his imagination, or if what he was feeling was real. Considering that no one else seemed to have noticed the stranger.
