Chapter 21

The door to the elevator opens on the twenty-fourth floor. After Xavier had a moment of staring deep into Jessica's eyes he let go of her hand and the rest of the elevator ride was awkward.

Since the VIP ward was quite private and quiet, Xavier could step out of the elevator without worrying about the blogs and tabloid owners. There was no way that they would be here.

Jessica followed behind him as he took long strides. He pushed open the door to his grandfather's ward.

"Just a minute Mr. Delgado, I am checking his vitals can you wait outside?" a nurse said as soon as Xavier stood in the doorway.

He nodded and turned around which made him jump directly into Jessica. Her head to his chest. Being in this position she could take in his scent. He had quite a different scent from the majority of the male populace. He smelt like melted candy and cinnamon.

"Are you okay?" he asked steadying her.

"Yes," she answered holding her head.

It did not hurt
