Chapter 24

It had been Jessica’s lifelong dream to own her own restaurant and be the head chef. She had been saving for it, but every time she got a good amount, her aunt would come out of nowhere and take all the money from her. She couldn’t believe her ears.

“I don’t have that kind of money,” Jessica said.

She had just finished paying off her student loan, and it had barely been two months since her aunt had come to take money from her. She was as poor as anyone could be.

The remaining money she could spare was what she used to get a dress and flowers for the wedding.

“Why would you think that I would suggest a restaurant and make you pay the cost?” Xavier asked in bewilderment.

“Wait, are you saying you’ll pay the full cost?” Jessica asked, also shocked.
