Chapter 74

As the Limo came to a halt and the chauffeur opened the door, Jessica climbed out immediately. She had been in complete silence; it was uncomfortable.

Was he the same one who comforted her less than forty-eight hours ago? Was it just pity from his end? She hated herself for thinking of giving him a chance. She thought that maybe if she became close to him, they could keep in touch after the divorce.

Now she had to go on a trip with him; she did not know how long. How was she going to survive being with him?

“Jessica, wait.” She heard him call her. She wanted to turn back immediately.

’But what if it’s my subconscious mind that is playing tricks on me?’ she thought. She did not hesitate to keep walking ahead, taking gentle and calculated steps because of the heels she wore.
