As the limo came to a halt and the chauffeur opened the door, Jessica climbed out immediately. The silence inside the car had been suffocating.
Was he the same man who had comforted her less than forty-eight hours ago? Or was it just pity on his part? She hated herself for even considering giving him a chance. She had thought that maybe, if she grew closer to him, they could stay in touch after the divorce.
Now she had to go on a trip with him—she didn’t even know for how long. How was she supposed to survive being with him?
