Chapter 94

Xavier got the phone ready and placed it on the island. Jessica could not deny that it looked good, and she could not wait to taste it to find out what it was like.

“Can we still have the wine?” she asked, pulling the cutest face she could muster.

“You still want to drink?” Xavier asked, shocked at her request.

“If we have nothing to do, then I guess having a cup or two wouldn’t hurt,” she explained, trying to make her case.

He looked at her intently for a while. She was right; there was nothing wrong with the low-alcohol wine he had brought out earlier.

“Okay, ma’am,” he said, setting the cups on the island with the meal he had prepared. He poured some wine into both cups before sitting beside her.

“Should we eat here?” Jessica asked when she saw him take his seat.
