Chapter 639. Nothing Has Any Meaning
From where Bianca stood, it seemed like he could fall at any moment. But in truth, there was another step behind him, a narrow ledge, a railing still close enough to grab.
“Bianca, you finally came,” he murmured, a wistful smile spreading across his face.
To him, her frantic worry was proof that she still cared. And he savored every moment of it.
“Blake, come down now. The wind is strong, this is dangerous!”
Bianca walked closer, her dress whipping in the fierce gusts.
But Blake only shook his head. “You’re wrong.”
“The one in danger is you.” With a slight flick of his fingers, he gave the signal.
That was all it took.
Before Bianca could understand what was happening, a figure rushed out from the shadows and slammed her to the ground. A rough hand covered her mouth and nose, pressing a cloth hard against her skin.
A sharp, bitter smell filled her lungs. Her body thrashed in panic, but her strength faded almost at once.
