Leonel raised a brow, a playful spark in his eyes. "Oh, I could tell. That’s why I’ll work harder to make you love me, so you’ll forget him completely."

His words caught her off guard, and warmth spread through her. She wanted to tell him she already cared for him. But she held it back, keeping the truth to herself.

"Then you’d better bring your best," she teased. "So, who caught your eye before me? Don’t you think you should be honest too?"

Leonel groaned, caught off guard. "Why does every girl always ask that?"

The words slipped out before he could stop them, and regret hit him instantly.

"Every girl?" Reese shot back, her tone playful but her brow raised.

Leonel’s face flushed as he scrambled to fix it. "Wait, that came out wrong! I didn’t mean it like that. You’re the only one for me, Reese. No one else."

She laughed, the tension melting away. "Relax, I’m just teasing you. You got so worked up! I already told you, the past doesn’t matter
