It was clear to Bianca that Michael and Sophia had once been pressured by a misunderstanding, but that tension was now gone. Since both had let go of the past, there was no need to dig further.

Smiling warmly, Bianca nodded and lifted Elaine into her arms. Looking closely at the child’s face, she couldn’t miss the resemblance to Michael.

“No wonder Elaine adores Michael so much. Family ties are strong. Children notice more than we think,” she said.

Sophia lowered her head, her cheeks tinged with awkwardness. “Elaine, don’t worry. Mommy’s fine,” she whispered gently.

Bianca then turned to Michael. “Don’t you think it’s time you took a bigger role in Elaine’s life? She’s still a child, spend these moments with her while you can.” She stroked Elaine’s hair as she spoke.

Elaine wrapped her little arms around Bianca and said in her sweet, sing-song voice, “Bianca’s right! I love park days with Michael and Mommy. Being together makes my heart happy.”
