Chapter 20

As she moved around, serving drinks on every table, her mind constantly drifted back to Gaetano. Now or never. How could she deny that she was in love? He was a complicated and difficult puzzle to figure out, and it was getting up to her.

After Sergio, she had promised never to love again, but now it was late. She was in love with a man who was in love with another woman. She couldn’t help the fact that even her heart constricted with so much jealousy and pain.

The question “who is the woman?” was still stuck in her mind. It was like she was invisible, didn’t exist, or more so than she thought. 

She kept up the question of what she meant to him. One minute he’s so sweet and beautiful, and the other, he’s cold, dangerously asking her to marry a man who loves someone else.
