She sighed quietly to herself, wishing she could escape this environment. As she contemplated finding a quiet corner to hide in, a woman approached her, striking up a conversation about the stunning artwork that decorated the walls. Grace was just going along, and she was more careful about herself than she was in the name of Faith. She shouldn’t expose her identity no matter what.
The minutes ticked by slowly, and Grace realized that she had to endure this evening. She should be well-behaved, not showing any sign of her depression right in front of many people. She made small talk with the woman and occasionally scanned the room, hoping to catch a glimpse of Adam. She knew that this world might not be her cup of tea, but being by his side made it bearable.
