Chapter 36
Adam asked, “So, how are you feeling now? Any better?”
Grace nodded, her anxiety fading with every step. She matched her gaze with Adam and replied. “Yes, much better than before.”
Adam smiled. “I’m glad to hear that.” He patted his chest with a proud smile grazing his lips. She smiled, seeing the informal in front of her. When she saw him like this, something stirred up in her heart. Grace inhaled, rubbing her palms together.
As they reached the end of their walk, Adam and Grace stopped to take in the view one last time. The cityscape was bathed in the soft glow of streetlights, and the tranquility of the moment was tangible.
Adam turned to Grace and said, “Thank you for this evening, Grace.”
Grace shook her head, her doe eyes held a mixture of reactions, “I should be the one thanking you. You’re doing so much for me.”
Adam sighed and just nodded at her words as he couldn’t talk to her further since she would disagree with whatever he said.
