Chapter 2. We Don't Have a Heart

Lavena and her husband left Madame Lizhard's house to return home. They were not willing if required to kill their beloved baby or abandoned the baby somewhere. The choice given by the fortune-teller made them awry and reluctant to choose. Tristian continued to hold his wife's hand, who had been accompanying him for three years.

At first, Tristian and Lavena rejoiced because the prayers and their wishes were finally granted. However, upon hearing the prophecy from Madame Lizhard, the joy immediately turned into sorrow. The feelings of husband and wife were raging, but they could not do anything about it because, as ordinary humans, the two could not go against the will of the gods and goddesses. A horse carriage located near there was waiting for the husband and wife. They walked slowly so as not to disturb Lavena's pregnancy, which was getting old, so those bad things did not happen, for example, falling.

When they arrived there, the coachman opened the door and helped Lavena go up first. Lavena, feeling exhausted, tried to climb up with one hand holding on to the door. Tristian, who saw this, immediately helped with a little push in the waist area and was alert. After a while, the pregnant young woman was able to get into the horse carriage, followed by the head of the family. When he saw Lavena and Tristian in the carriage, the coachman closed the door and climbed into the carriage. The middle-aged man began to spur the horse so that it could move.

While on the way home, the husband and wife were mostly silent, as if there were many things on their minds. Moreover, after hearing the results of the forecast from a fortune-teller whose prediction results are known to miss the mark rarely. For Lavena, Madame Lizhard's words really hurt her as a mother-to-be, so she did not want to obey those words.

Why did my husband insist on going there before I went there too? Is no it that without hearing the results of the prophecy, the existing life is already happy? We can pay her to give us an excellent report without visiting her directly. Our household only lacks children. Without offspring, what is the meaning of marriage? Truly, life feels empty because the residence is incomplete without a baby's cry. I have to find a way so that the fetus in this womb can be born without any defects or being killed! Lavena's determination.

Meanwhile, Tristian became indecisive. On the one hand, he did not want to lose his child, but on the other hand, it is like believing or not believing the prediction results. The father's instinct forbids him to do evil to his own child, the flesh and blood that he and his wife have been waiting for for a long time.

O, the Great Goddess Asiles. Please give us a hint: should we kill or throw away the offspring you bestowed? Was not Goddess Magia not always evil because one of her powers was passed on to fortune-tellers, such as Madame Lizhard, as well as to the High Priests and High Priestess who presided over the temples all over the country? Because not a few of them worship more than one god or goddess. Really, this heart can't bear to have to get rid of the baby that is awaited, thought the man, who will soon become a father.

The journey home that night was lonely, long, and gloomy. It was as if they were in another world and could not return to the normal human realm. The pregnant woman looked sleepy, then leaned her head on her husband's right shoulder. Tristian, who saw this, immediately welcomed it, even correcting the position of the neck of his beloved wife.

After feeling fit and comfortable, the two eyes stared at the belly of the angel in his queen, aka his beloved wife. He felt sad because he did not want to be separated from the child he had longed for. The man's right hand began to rub the partner's stomach as if he did not want to let go of the moment.

My daughter, what a heavy fate you will live later. To kill, I really can't bear it, but if the prophecy is true, will you harm us in the future? Of course, as a parent, we only hope and pray for the good so that all is well. I love you, but I am sorry if I have to take a heavy step and it will definitely not be liked. This is all for the common good, the emerald-eyed man thought bitterly.

The fetus in the womb feels like it feels a touch of affection from the father so that it moves in the stomach as if greeting Tristian who feels indecisive in his heart. The man, who was still rubbing his partner's stomach, was silent for a moment, then resumed his delayed activities.

Since you are a girl, if the predictions made by Madame Lizhard are true, then we must find a beautiful and suitable name for you. Maybe, when you grow up, we will not be near you, but believe me, our prayers are always with you. Even as a father, I find it difficult to take action to kill or dispose of their own biological children. After arriving at the residence, I will pray for guidance to the Goddess Asiles, the Goddess of Wisdom, so that I can find a way out. Tonight has been so hard for us that it is not good to take action when we are panicked, upset, or angry, Tristian thought again.

The horse carriage continued to move at a moderate speed. The coachman remained concentrated because he already knew the route to return to the house of the ladies and gentlemen where he served. It was so quiet that the only sound was the galloping of horses. The heavily pregnant woman was still asleep, accompanied by the embrace of her husband, who loved her with all her heart. The man who would soon become a father still could not sleep because the fortune teller's words were disturbing his mind.

The moon in the night sky shines beautifully. Perfectly round shape, making anyone admire its beauty. A woman with a beautiful face, yet cold and mysterious, is near the moon. His eyes were watching the horse carriage carrying Lavena Isolda Keira and Tristian Varden Writh. The fetus that the young woman was conceiving was still moving as a reaction to the caress of the father that was still going on in the belly of the young mother.

The atmosphere that night was tense but was ignored by the well-built man. His thoughts were still focused on the results of the prophecy that he and the young woman who was pregnant with their child had heard. A sense of gratitude rose in his heart when he remembered the fortune teller promised not to reveal the actual results of the prophecy, even giving a paper containing a different prophecy signed by Madame Lizhard.

We are lucky because Madame Lizhard will be kind enough to provide a false prediction as a written report so that I can report it to the population registration department tomorrow or two days from now. If the emperor knew the actual results of the prophecy, then it would definitely be a serious matter. This should not happen! Tristian determined.

The gaze of the Goddess was still with the little family. They seemed inseparable from the surveillance so that even the slightest movement could be seen, even though, in reality, they were very far apart, and it was impossible for an ordinary human to get close at all.

"Hmmm ... apparently, Goddess Asiles was afraid of being rivaled by my messenger, who was already in the belly of Tristian's wife, until she dared to ask her messenger to give her messenger a false vision, even though the prediction was not one hundred percent correct. I will not allow the fetus that is there, to be killed or hurt, because she is the chosen one. Tsk, it is not only humans who compete in our world, there are, of course, because they do not want to lose followers. If anyone wants to mess with the Goddess Magia, then they must learn a valuable lesson," she mumbled softly.

The carriage continued on. They had left the forest, which was where the fortune teller lived. The atmosphere was getting late at night, making the atmosphere so gloomy. Now all that could be heard was the galloping of horses, a gentle breeze, and the sounds of the nocturnal beasts.

Lavena was still asleep, even more so. Tristian changed his position to lean back so that his beloved wife could rest freely.

Poor wife. She must be stressed because she heard the prediction from Madame. She was right. We should not have gone there, but the big family would definitely ask if we did not come. In addition, the examination of the fortune-teller must be reported to the kingdom for fear of a prophecy about a messenger from the Goddess Magia who will be born from the womb of a mortal woman, Tristian thought sadly.

The owner of a pair of emerald-colored eyes could not help but cry when he thought about his beloved little family's fate, especially the fate of their first child. He kept rubbing his wife's stomach lovingly as if wanting to get rid of the bad thoughts that were created as a result of listening to the prophecy of Madame Lizhard.

Honestly, I do not want to believe it, but everyone here knows about the legendary curse related to the country's future. So, because of this, the emperor even ordered that every married man and woman whose wife was pregnant must be obliged to consult with Madame Lizhard because her prophecy had been proven that the results were accurate. Never mind, do not think about it just yet, because it is already quite a burden on the heart, thought the future father, who was holding tightness in his chest.
