The room was dimly lit, the soft amber glow of the lamp casting long shadows across the walls. Ayleen had just switched off the main lights and nestled herself under the warm covers. Her head sank into the plush pillow, her body aching for sleep after a long day. Midnight had long passed, and Murat was still nowhere to be seen. Tired of waiting for him, she decided to let her fatigue take over.
She was almost lost to the haze of slumber when the door creaked open, and she caught a glimpse of his figure stumbling into the room.
