Chapter 214
Laughter drifted through the air as Ayleen and Hanum approached, walking along the trail. Hanum pushed Aynur’s pram, the baby cooing happily inside.
Murat’s gaze softened at the sight. Ayleen looked radiant, despite everything. Her small smile as she approached gave him something to hold onto, something worth fighting for.
“Promise me something.” Murat turned back to Berat, his tone suddenly low.
Berat glanced at him, eyebrows raised. “What now?”
“Promise me,” Murat repeated, “that you will make our kids best friends, just like us.”
Berat stared at him, swallowing hard before grinning through the tears still glistening in his eyes.
“Best friends?” Berat chuckled. “I will do better than that. If you have a son and I have a daughter, I will marry them. If you have a daughter, I will bind our kids together with an elastic band.”
Murat threw his head back, laughing, a full, deep laugh. Berat joined in, their voices echoing across the open fields
