Chapter 36. Lone Earth

“You are not my boss!” said Rufus. “You have to let me go!”

Rufus is a retired cop. Just like Jimmy, he was in a coma when the invasion happened. He looked terrible, yelling at the creatures holding him at gunpoint. This is the third month since he woke up from a coma. When he walked the streets, he found out the streets were deserted. No one was found.

He has spent three months trying to find Ella, his girlfriend. Just when he got to the conclusion that the world his empty, he heard the crackle of a gun against his head. When he looked, he made a profile of a creature geared in an Alien war suit.

‘Son of a bitch!’ he cried out. Trying to run will make it easy for the creature to pull the trigger. He swallowed a lump in his throat and spoke in a quivering voice, ‘Are you going to kill me?’

‘If you make any haste move, I will,’ the creature replied in a static voice. ‘I will take you in as my prisoner.’
