I stood on the balcony, staring at the waterfall, lost in thought. It had taken a lot of time for me to get this calm after what transpired in the mating ball. I had such high expectations for this mating ball, and one person had come and ruined everything.

I felt a knot in my heart tighten as I thought about Roxanne. I had no idea if she was still here in the palace or if she was on her way to LA, as I had been too pissed to check. Considering the fact that our normal arrangement was for her to leave after the ball, I presumed she must have left already.

There were some things that I was still unclear about. Isn’t her supposed boyfriend meant to be human? So how come he was in my pack for our annual mating ball and she wasn’t freaking out? Out of anger, I had failed to ask the necessary questions.
