Chapter 44. You’re My Second Chance Mate

I stepped into the shower to take a cold bath as I let the water run down my body. I was still very shaken by the fact that Kylian was still out there trying to get me for reasons known only to him.

I still haven’t seen my kids because I didn’t want them to see me in this manner. My lips were busted, and I looked pale and tired. I was going to see them after taking care of the bruises in my arms.

My mind drifted off to Whitney; I hadn’t seen her in a while. The last time I saw her was during the mating ball, and she had left in a hurry as she was upset about something unknown to me. 

Since then, I haven't come across her in the palace or anywhere. I had previously decided to visit her but was caught in a web of problems. Plus, so much has been going on that I barely even have time for myself.
