“So, did your hybrid get away from the Palace?”

My eyes found her viperlike eyes, the color of hazel brown that seemed gilded under the yellow torch light. I never liked the way she looked at me as if I were some sort of other person she could control. But as for the moment, I had no choice but to play along with her game.
