Chapter 89. The Hut

It was almost a nine-hour horse ride towards the place that Jonas allowed us to use, which was safe from any palace guards from Tyrell. The place was behind a mountain, hidden, and no one would ever think that there was a house built in there.

We rode there non-stop and even though Jonas had this amazing speed for a vampire, he decided to get a horse too and just level his speed with us so he could watch over us if there was a threat while we were on the road, thinking that Edison could not fight in his condition.

It was exhausting. I felt bad for Gram because he had been working so hard since I chose him to come with me to Careon and until we got here in this small house. The small hut was surrounded by an amazing garden full of vegetation and flowers.

The trees were also abundant with fruits. Jonas told me he used to live there when he was still a human and decided to take care of the place even though he didn’t need to grow fruits or vegetables to eat anymore.
