Cain stopped in his tracks and tensed his body. "What? Adel was helping him kill you and Hunter, right? "Are you kidding?" He asked with a tone of disbelief.

Claire let out a big sigh. "Yes, and Emil was added to the list. He was working alongside her. Adel told me she hated me and that I was the reason she was an outcast and had a hard life. So, she wanted me to die because she thought it would make things better for her and make her everyone's favorite. Emil, on the other hand, only wanted me back.
