Chapter 75
Claire's POV
I felt uneasy all of a sudden, and my eyebrows drew together. "Yes, it does matter. But wait, this can't be true; it's impossible." I must have been dreaming, because my gut told me that this wasn't my mate.
I did my best to get away from him. "You aren't Hunter, and none of this is real. Let me go!" I demanded.
I tried to get away by wriggling around in the person's grip, but when I looked up at them, my blood left my body and fear gripped me tightly because their face was now thin and dried out.
I let out a loud gasp and then froze. I couldn't move or talk.
"This is your fault. Look at my face and see what you've done, Claire," Hunter said in a voice that was cynical and hard to understand.
I quickly shook my head hard. "No, you're not Hunter, and this is just a dream!" I'll find that cure, and he'll be saved." I yelled as loud as I could, not letting my nightmare stop me.
