Chapter 79

Claire's POV

Now I had to make the hardest choice I'd ever had to make in my short life. It was an impossible choice that only I could make. My wolf started to pace and whine and huff in my head. I shut my eyes and focused on her. She sat on her back legs, tilted her head, and looked at me with love. I knew what she was telling me because I could feel it in my bones. My heart was breaking, but we both knew the answer because there was never really a choice.

As a tear slipped down my face, I opened my eyes and straightened up. "All right, I'll trade you my wolf for the cure." I couldn't get the words out, and my voice broke with each one.

The witch just stood there and stared at me with a cold, calculating look. She couldn't believe I agreed to her terms.

"You know that if you do this, you'll lose her forever, and there's a chance you won't make it through the split, since she's a part of your soul. Are you really ready to pay that much?" She asked with a curi
