Chapter 88. Escape

Liam’s POV

I appeared to have healed back to my normal state now. My head felt clear and my vision had become fully focused, blinking through the last haze I took my eyes to Celeste who was bound in chains as I was.

“Celeste,” I husked “I think they’ve gone,” I watched Savannah and Johnny leave the basement, their footsteps growing ever quieter the further away up the stone steps they climbed. Listening out for that specific sound of the door, I heard it slam close and the sound of the lock echoed around the room.

Celeste, her eyes closed peacefully, I knew she had given up. I needed her to be strong now, we needed to fight these restraints and escape while Savannah had left us.

“Celeste,” I spoke her name again, her eyes opened slowly and she focused on me. Her green eyes sparkled with the tears that formed.

“Are you able to talk to Winter?” I asked, wondering if Celeste could contact her wolf.
