The pain still reverberated across Lucious’ head as he turned slowly, his body straightened and he towered over her. Hands still on the cheek she had just slapped, he gaped at Haven with a slightly opened mouth. He couldn’t believe it. His mate had slapped him yet again. The slap wasn’t something he had expected at all and he could feel the painful sting in his cheeks. But that pain couldn’t be compared to the pain he felt in his heart as he stared into his mate’s burning eyes.

His deep blue eyes looked at her in confusion, still wondering what he had done wrong. All he wanted to do was try explain things to her but he got a slap in return.

“ You are a despicable man.” Her venomous voice spat in his face. “ I hate you ” She yelled and burst into tears. “ I really do. I hate you Lucious.”
