The tears streamed down my face.

It couldn’t be! What was he doing?! Why hadn’t he sent her out yet?!
I held my breath and watched. My body was in agony, and the ropes felt even tighter.
My heart was leaning on the edge of a canyon. A little tip and it would fall.
