I scoffed. I had spent more nights than necessary in this lousy place.
I turned the corner and some maids scurried past me with their heads held low.
I shook my head. I couldn’t wait to get the fuck out of here. André, I am coming for you.
My knuckles cracked as I clenched them, hate and rage bubbling in my mind.
The men were supposed to move out today. André wouldn’t know what hit him and soon, Olivia would be mine and my brothers wouldn’t dare to look at me with such disrespect ever again.
I reached my father’s study and found the door ajar. Strange; he never left the door open.
A dim light was pouring out from inside. Maybe he was inside but then again, there were no guards at the door.
I pushed it open and went inside. My father’s chair was turned around and I could see a dark silhouette of him sitting as he faced the dimly lit fireplace.
