After a full thirty minutes, the doctor had stopped pounding on Christine’s chest. He turned to Lord Constantine with a grave face and said, “Fortunately, she came back this time but we may not be so lucky next time. I’m not sure what she’s asking for but certainly it cannot be more valuable than her life?”

Lord Constantine sat by his daughter’s side and said, “if you want to be with him so badly then you have my blessings.”

He left his daughter’s side with a strict instruction to Mary to take care of Christine while threatening the doctor to ensure that she overcome her illness to start making preparations to marry his only daughter to a man he considered to be below average.
