A year after Wyndham was born (Thallus’s younger brother) the people of the Dark Moon pack had begun to wonder who would be heir apparent. Since Thallus had not been announced the heir the Dark Moon pack was confused as to whether the Alpha intended to overlook his older son and give the throne to the younger brother.

Alpha Thaddeus was therefore confronted with this dilemma soon and the issue was raised in court by one of his ministers.

“It would seem that my people think I am getting senile,” replied the Alpha when the issue of choosing a heir was mentioned.

“It helps to strengthen power and maintain stability,” a minister voiced.

“My youngest son is only a year old. How can I decide whom I should give the kingdom too when he cannot even say his name yet?” This seemed like a reasonable argument.
