Thallus’s POV

It had been three months since my parents passed on and in that time I have had to look after Wyndham and just a few weeks ago I sent him to a faraway country for treatment. It was my wish that he recovered. If I lose him it would feel like I had lost my entire family although I still had a brother that I had never met in my life.

Today was my ‘coronation’ and although this was meant to be a happy time; I felt very sad. As the ministers bowed to me and the people paid their respects I felt like a fraud. I had this nagging urge to just scream for them to stop and confess the truth but I had to keep it all in.

I locked eyes with Lady Finn, my father’s younger sister and she gave me an encouraging smile. After the death of my father she had come to see me privately.
