Chapter 36. Exchange of Favor

Amelia’s POV

When Nikita and I sat down to supper that day, it was already late. Since she was exhausted and could not be bothered, I let her sleep the entire day. She was quiet, but it was obvious that she was no longer upset with me. I am aware that her current silence raises some strange questions.

Amelia, why are you staring at me in that way? Does my face have dirt on it?

I gave a quick shake of my head. Concerning what transpired last night, I have a lot of questions for her. I still do not know her all that well, even though we are friends. I am interested in learning more about her because I do not know much about her.

If I ask, will she be offended?

I was not sure. If I tried to ask Nikita some questions, perhaps she would later throw me out of her apartment. Although it is untrue, she might believe that I am meddling in her life. I am just worried. The only thing holding me back from doing that is that. I do not want her to become enrag
