Chapter 117. He Had Called for a War

Kael’s POV

My hand crossed tightly over my chest. “He wants war?” I asked with one of my brows raised.

Just as those words left my lips, I heard the hurried footsteps of Adrianna behind me.

I turned, looking at her face. Her eyes darted between Marcus and me. “Did I just hear you right?”

“Who wants war?” she asked, fluttering her lashes rapidly at me.

I sighed heavily. “Alaric had called for a war,” I said in a low voice.

She dragged a hand through her hair. Pacing two steps back. “How could he, I mean, why? Did he give a reason why he wanted to go into war?” she asked, staring at my face.

I opened my mouth but clamped it shut. Alaric had threatened to get her back, or he would go to war, but was I really willing to tell her the reason?

“I can handle this,” I said in a firm voice.

Her eyes widened as she shook her head. “No, I have to help. This is about my pack, I won’t let him…” she trailed, drawing in a sharp breath.
