Thea’s POV
I paused at the entrance to the hallway the moment my gaze landed on her—gracefully seated in the dining hall, calmly eating her meal. So it was true. She had returned to the pack. My fingers clenched the folds of my dress as my blazing brown eyes bore into her from across the room. As if she sensed my presence, that conniving witch tilted her head in my direction, her lucent blue eyes locking onto mine.
She gave me a tight-lipped smile as I entered the dining hall and slid onto the chair opposite her. I returned her grin with one of my own—carefully measured, sharp—and kept my stare fixed on her face. A helper placed a plate of food before me, but I didn’t even bother to register its contents.
“You’re back?” I muttered, my tone low and clipped.
She lifted her glass to her lips, meeting my question with a cool sweep of those pale eyes. “As you can see.”
