I remained silent and still for a long moment, watching Thea vanish down one of the hallways. Finally, I sighed, clasping my hands together as I forced my gaze back to the table. After what had just happened between us, my suspicions felt confirmed: Thea wasn’t expecting Draven’s pup. That was good—proof she truly had a lover. But I held no real evidence to expose her lie. All I’d managed was a bluff. I couldn’t prove she was the whore who courted another man while pretending to love Draven. Now I could only rely on Thea herself.

I’d never seen her cunning brown eyes look so terrified. My words had clearly shaken her to the core, and she cared fiercely about protecting her despicable lie. I dared to hope she’d act rashly—something drastic that would finally give me the proof I needed to oust the whore from my pack and from Draven’s life for good. Oh, what joy that would be!
