Chapter 19

Emotions

I sighed and did a little bit of stretching in my chair, my shoulders hurt and my eyes were blurred.

I stared at the laptop but I couldn’t read anything else, I leaned back and my eyes fell shut.

I never intended to stay this long at the office but after what happened between me and Gale in the morning, I felt so frustrated and stressed.

I just wanted to bury myself in working so I couldn’t think much into things like I always do. Everyone had left and the place was empty and silent, while I was debating on staying here for the night.

I had already chosen a case to take on and gone through the details so there was no use staying but I didn’t know if I was ready to face Gale yet.

I heard a knock at my office door and my eyes snapped open to the wall clock. I wondered who was here at this hour. My eyes moved towards the door.

“Come in,” I spoke up while sitting up, my back hurt and I felt so numb.
