Chapter 24

No Way

When I walked in here I thought I was late only to find that Gale himself hadn’t arrived yet.

He had booked a table on the second floor by the balcony, the view was nice. It felt like I had the map around every skyscraper in the city.

But soon I realized that it had been an hour and Gale was nowhere to be found, the breeze blew hard and I felt goosebumps rise on my skin.

I grabbed my phone and dialed his number, waiting patiently until I realized his phone was off. I tried again and again, I searched the inside of the restaurant with my eyes hoping to see him but there was nothing.

My phone vibrated in my hand hoping it was him but no it was Maggie calling again. I sighed and looked up at the wall clock again and it was one and half hours that had been.

I wondered what had gone wrong. Is Gale still at work and that’s the main reason as to why he hadn’t come yet or was it something else?
