Truth Talk

Sitting across Gale like this made me so relieved, I looked down at my cup of coffee then up at him.

He was also staring at me waiting for me to start talking, I could see the curiosity in his eyes. Lowering my eyes again, I was willing to explain but I also had questions.

“What you saw was nothing like what you thought,” I said faintly. Well I guess I have to start from the beginning.

“Today I met Mr. Rogers,” I said, it was now that I realized this day was so long. Looking up at the clock on the wall it was midnight and we’re sitting here trying to make things between us right again.
