Chapter 14. Making Love

Emerald listened quietly, occasionally glancing at him. If she could do it without being obvious, she would have kept staring at Alaric. His knowledge about food was clear from the way he spoke. 

How can this man be so talented in everything?

Alaric explained different ways to cook steak, and Emerald listened, even though she didn't fully understand everything he said. She was very picky about her food and only knew how to fry eggs because she usually just ate salads.

When he finished cutting his steak into small pieces, he slid the plate toward Emerald.

She pretended not to notice and focused on eating. Emerald was startled the moment she tasted the steak. She had never tasted a steak this delicious in her entire life. She was sure the chef who cooked it must be highly skilled and expensive.

Emerald, feeling overwhelmed after finishing two large dishes, almost felt like she might throw up. She pushed her plate away while still chewing.
